About Us

WHO & WHY:

Nkoli Skin Food is a line developed by a woman looking for products that were meant for her skin, and to help cleanse, tone and moisturize naturally.  Mangy-Nkoli then spent years researching natural ingredients to combine and make products that met her standards.

WHAT:

Nkoli Skin Food is a product line developed using only ingredients found in nature like natural and essential oils, fruits, nuts, cornmeal, goats milk, herbal teas, coconut oil, mango butter, vinegar, chocolate, lemon, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, avocado, aloe vera, shea butter and palm oil .

In Nigerian Nkoli means to “exchange good news” and at Nkoli Skin Food we believe that women and men should have access to natural, effective products to help transform their skin. Upholding our philosophy of transparency and affordable access we bring you our line of products to help feed your skin and spirit.

At Nkoli Skin Food we believe in sharing what we know works and because of this we list all of our ingredients on our product labels so that you can better understand what natural ingredients work best for you.

We have found what works best for keeping skin fresh and glowing. We developed an easy 3 step process to help you cleanse, polish (tone), and feed (moisturize) your skin.

At Nkoli Skin Food we have not only found natural ingredients to be the most effective but we have looked to nature to understand how we should take care of skin.

Nature is cyclical and we believe that we must support the process that already is taking place within our skin to keep it healthy. As we cleanse our skin of daily toxins, and cleared of harsh make-up we usually also remove our natural moisture.  The Nkoli Skin Food line works to clear and cleanse while simultaneously bringing back balance and moisture.

HOW:

Our regimen is an easy 3 step process:

  1. The first phase is to Cleanse: With our cleansing products we use natural soaps to refresh, smooth and clear your skin.
  2. The second phase is to Polish: After your skin is refreshed you use our polishers to remove dirt and oil while simultaneously starting the healing to smooth your skin.
  3. The third phase is to Feed: Once the skin is clear, and polished you will attain a natural glow and healthy skin balance with our moisturizers.

Our regimen comes in 3 different lines:

Nnemdi: Nnemdi in Nigerian means “I have a mother”.  Named after Mangy-Nkoli’s favorite sister.  When we, at Nkoli starting working on our product lines we realized that we had so many gifts from mother nature to help keep us happy and healthy.  And, so we decided to name the women’ line – Nnemdi to acknowledge that the ingredients we use are put together by us but are made by our Mother.

Prince-Hassan Collection: Prince-Hassan in English and in Nigerian means “above the rest & 1st of twin boys”.  Named after Mangy-Nkoli’ favorite brother – product line is apropos – simplified for the man.

Sod: “Mother Earth”; created by Mangy-Nkoli’ mother now 86 year old mother, Dora, who has over 35 years in the hair business – Sod is the surface of dirt that facilitates plant growth – in taking care of our hair we too have to think of what supports hair health and growth.

Our SOD line supports hair growth by feeding the top layer of the scalp to facilitate nutrients getting to the roots.

INTENT:

Mangy-Nkoli says she created her skin care line to fulfill her “3-G Principle” –  “I want my products to Look Good, Smell Good, and Be Good for You”.
